Key Words
This week we have learned some new key words such as Communication (socialisation, groups interact, verbal or non verbal), Culture (lifestyle, groups, way of living), Context (word or phrase change meaning), Representation (portray in a particular way), Value (what something is worth, importance), Identity (who you are), Power (authority) and Code (system of words used to represent others, rules that we live by, cultural code).
We also learned about idiolect (the way we speak as individuals), sociolect (the way a group of people speak), dialect (a particular form of language specific to a region or a social group) and accent (the way we pronounce words).
We learned about different communication acts such as verbal and non verbal (such as an alarm clock).
Interpersonal Communication is between two people or more.
